Sarah Stamboulie

Sarah Stamboulie heads Stamboulie Career Consulting, a career consulting business specializing in providing executives with comprehensive career services. Industry and functional specialties include including investment banking and investment management, private equity, management consulting, real estate, consumer products, media, technology, business development, human resources management, and not-for-profit management. Services include:

  • Career assessment – help with selecting your next job target. Customized tools may include written exercises, testing (including Myers-Briggs assessments), analysis, and/or exploratory networking meetings.
  • Individual job search consulting – to help speed your job search. Services include job targeting, resumes, research, exploratory meetings, interviews, and negotiation.
  • MBA alumni job search groups - provide weekly assistance in an executive group setting. Topics are similar to individual coaching and groups feature periodic guest speakers.
  • Executive coaching – help with career satisfaction and progression issues at your current organization.

Sarah’s prior roles include leading Alumni Career Services at Columbia Business School and heading human resources organizations at Morgan Stanley, Cantor Fitzgerald, and Nortel Networks. Michael Stone

Michael Stone, formerly of The Gardner Group, founded Stone Search in November, 2001. After being in the technical recruitment business for eight years, Michael decided to take his extensive knowledge and contacts under his own “roof.”

Stone Search is a boutique Executive Search firm specializing in the placement of seasoned professionals within the internetworking/intranetworking fields of technology. They focus on “Bleeding Edge” Technology, from Financial Trading Systems to Multi-Site Commercial Networks. The Stone Search team includes four recruiters experienced in the technology industry. Their collective experience ranges from former hardware engineers to sales and marketing and human resource trained professionals. They all share similar methods of recruiting and strong ethics. The team feels that there is nothing more important than representing each company like a trusted employee and each candidate like a colleague that they deal with everyday.

Michael Wellman

Michael Wellman has 20+ years experience in senior executive search, with over 400 key engagements to his credit, including Board, CEO, CFO and other C-level positions. Mr. Wellman has served both public and privately-owned clients, including Global Fortune 500 companies, mid-market enterprises, and emerging young ventures. His client verticals include advanced technology, media/entertainment, defense/homeland security, consumer markets, manufactured goods, and a range of private equity-owned portfolio companies.

Having served earlier as a business strategy and improvement consultant with the Boston office of Bain & Company, Mr. Wellman brings unique insights and strategic perspective to each engagement. He enjoys tackling the critical search assignment, and prefers to work with clients where he can develop a deepening relationship through hands-on attention, close partnership and personal accountability. He has demonstrated that rare ability to select high caliber candidates who not only fully address the initial post, but also rise to the highest levels within their companies. For example, he recruited Indra Nooyi to PepsiCo as Chief Strategy Officer, now PepsiCo’s Chairman and CEO. He helped BHP Ltd. attract Kirby Adams, who later led the spin off of BlueScope Steel and more than tripled its market value to over $9B. Chip Goodyear was recruited to BHP Ltd. as its CFO, and within several years, was appointed CEO of this $43B natural resources global leader.

Before joining Diversified Search/Ray & Berndtson, Mr. Wellman spent eight years as a Senior Client Partner with Korn/Ferry International, where he served as one of four global Presidents, heading global specialty practices. He was elected to KFY’s Board of Directors (NYSE), and was Region Managing Partner for the six offices in the Northeast Region (New York, Boston, Toronto, Stamford, Philadelphia and Princeton).

Mr. Wellman was born in Boston, raised in South Carolina, and graduated from the University of Virginia with his B.S. in Commerce and his MBA from the Darden School. He speaks often to industry groups, including the Forbes CEO and Forbes CFO annual conferences and the Hunt-Scanlon Human Capital conferences. He has presented to the Harvard Business School Club of New York, The Wharton Business Club of New York, and to various chapters of the Financial Executives Institute (FEI).
